Process cooling experts IsoCool and manufacturer M&H Plastics went head-to-head in a friendly charity football match on Saturday 17th May in order to raise money for the children’s charity, Batten Disease Family Association. The nail-biting match, which took place at the Carrow Road stadium of Norwich City Football Club, resulted in a 4-3 win for IsoCool – however both teams scored a major goal by raising a cool £2,274 for the charity.

Of course the real winners are the children affected by this debilitating disease, with the funds raised helping to heighten awareness and facilitate research. Children with Batten Disease are born apparently healthy, but quickly develop epilepsy and loose their sight, speech, cognitive and motor abilities, often passing away between the ages of 5 and 30. Currently, there is no cure.

“Everyone was a winner at this game – we all had a brilliant time and there was a great atmosphere between the two teams. Plus it was a real treat to play in the same stadium as the Norwich Canaries! We’re really pleased to have been able to raised money for such a good cause,” said Nigel Hallett, Managing Director of IsoCool.

Kevin Pennington, Technical Director of M&H Plastics added:

“It was a fantastic football match, with a real sense of team spirit, and it was all the more satisfying knowing that we raised £2,274 for the charity. The match might be over, but we’d love the donations to keep coming so we can help provide the affected families with the opportunity for a happier life.”
