Process cooling experts IsoCool and manufacturer M&H Plastics (a member of the RPC Group) will go head-to-head in a friendly football match with the goal of raising money for the children’s charity, Battens Disease Family Association. The match will take place at Carrow Road, the home of Norwich City Football Club, on Saturday 17th May.

Battens disease affects 1 in 30,000 births and there are presently around 200 affected children and young adults in the UK. Born apparently healthy, these children subsequently develop epilepsy and lose their sight, speech, cognitive and motor abilities, often passing away between the ages of 5 and 30. Currently, there is no cure.

Battens Disease Family Association works tirelessly to support the affected families, raise awareness of the disease and facilitate research. With this in mind, the charity welcomes the support offered by companies such as IsoCool and M&H Plastics.

“The Battens Disease Family Association charity is a really worthy cause, helping families to deal with the stresses that this disease raises in everyday family life. So far, we’ve raised lots of money with the help of family and friends, but we’d like to raise lots more,” said Kevin Pennington, Technical Director of M&H Plastics.

Nigel will be taking part in the 11-a-side teams along with directors, engineers, and office staff from both companies, plus family and friends. All will be looking to score goals in the stadium – famous for high profile matches with the Norwich ‘Canaries’ – and hoping to raise awareness and funds for the deserving charity.
